June 7 — The Maldives Heritage Society is pleased to announce that our President, Mr. Thoha AbuBakur, recently had the honor of meeting with His Excellency Kong Xianhua, the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives. The meeting marked an important step forward in our ongoing mission to safeguard and celebrate Maldivian history.

During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Kong was briefed on the Society’s work and our president expressed sincere appreciation for China’s longstanding support to the Maldives. He highlighted the value of strengthening collaboration in heritage protection, education, professional training, and cultural exchange.

H.E. Ambassador Kong noted the importance of cultural heritage as a vital reflection of a nation’s history and culture, and expressed China’s readiness to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Maldives in heritage preservation and related areas.
