The President of the Maldives Heritage Society paid a visit to the private museum “Koshidhorage” in Addu City, a unique museum that preserves a rich collection of artifacts related to the history and heritage of Addu and the Maldives.
The museum is the result of over 40 years of passionate dedication and hard work by Mr. Ibrahim Firaq, who has continuously collected and preserved historically significant items for future generations. The collection reflects the cultural identity, traditional lifestyle, and historical journey of the Maldivian people, especially the heritage of Addu City.
During the visit, the President of the Maldives Heritage Society commended Mr. Firaq for his invaluable contribution to heritage preservation and highlighted the importance of private initiatives in safeguarding the nation’s cultural history.
The Society also expressed its appreciation for Mr. Firaq’s lifelong efforts and wished him continued success in further developing and maintaining this remarkable museum for the benefit of the community and future generations.
Discussions were also held on ways to strengthen and further develop the museum, and the Maldives Heritage Society decided to support efforts aimed at enhancing and promoting the museum and its valuable collections.
As a gesture of appreciation, the President of the Maldives Heritage Society presented a handmade lacquered artifact to the museum’s collection during the visit.
