The first educational session to be conducted at the newly completed Pareefenganda Platform was held today for students of Laamu Pre-Education.
The session focused on the importance of conserving and protecting this significant natural heritage site, while also highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the area. Participants were provided with information about Pareefenganda’s unique environment, its heritage value, and the appropriate practices visitors should follow when visiting the site.
The platform was developed as part of the site’s conservation and management plan to provide visitors with a safe and environmentally responsible way to experience Pareefenganda. In addition to improving accessibility, the platform helps minimize disturbance to the wetland ecosystem and its biodiversity, promoting the sustainable use and long-term protection of the area.
The Maldives Heritage Society extends its appreciation to the students, parents, and staff of Laamu Pre-Education for their participation and interest in learning about the importance of protecting the Maldives’ natural and cultural heritage.
