Utheemu Ganduvaru is the birthplace and home of Sultan Mohamed Thakurufaanu, one of the most revered heroes in Maldivian history. Utheemu Ganduvaru, which translates to Utheemu Palace is located in the island of Utheemu in Haa Alifu Atoll.
